Self Help Community Outreach Is a Non Profit Community Based Organization in Belhar, Cape Town, South Africa, NPO 074-054, that focus on Sports, Arts & Culture as early intervention of substance abuse.
It was launched Monday June 29, 2009 at Maclear Way Park, Belhar. A group of Self Help residents formed this organization because they realized the gap in the community's needs could be met with unity, commitment and passion.
Their aim is to empower, equip and uplift the children & residents in our area in Sports, Arts & Culture as early intervention of substance abuse.
We have started with the children but find that we do not have any equipment to be successful and fear the children will lose their enthusiasm. The children are very keen and excited to get started with programs like soccer, netball, cricket, basketball, music, dancing, singing, play acting, karaoke and modeling.

A Committee member, Recardo Martin is a disabled Break-dancer who has the strong desire to teach and use his dance talents to help the youth of our community.

HOUSE OF HOPE AND HEALING, new registered, non-profit organization situated in Gouda, Western Cape where a smallholding is being fixed to use as a Shelter to facilitate for the ABUSED, ABANDONED, REJECTED, NEGLECTED & DESTITUTE.
AIMS AND OBJECTIVES:
1. To provide a place of safety for women and children, who are physically, psychologically and financially abused;
2. To provide professional counseling and care for persons who are infected and affected by HIV?AIDS, TB and Cancer;
3. To equip community with various skills, through our training programs and in order make them productive members of society who can make a positive contribution to its progress;
4. To assist with the alleviation of the shortage of educational facilities for children and young people;
5. To liaise with other organizations who have similar objectives, and work together with them to alleviate the plight of the poor and underprivileged.
